Job summary:
Our client, a leading university in the Norther Emirates - UAE, is seeking a dynamic and proactive Assistant Manager – Placements & Alumni Relations to take full ownership of student placement and internship programs. The successful candidate will serve as a key link between the university, students, and industry partners, playing a pivotal role in enhancing career outcomes for students and building long-term corporate relations.
Job responsibilities
Key Responsibilities:
🔹 Placements & Internships
Manage the complete placement lifecycle for final-year students across all academic programs.
Source and coordinate internships for students at various levels of study.
Ensure placement targets are met or exceeded annually.
🔹 Corporate Engagement
Identify and onboard new companies across diverse sectors for placements and internships.
Establish and maintain strong industry relationships through regular engagement, calls, meetings, and visits.
Liaise with employers to understand hiring needs and align student skills accordingly.
🔹 Student Readiness & Communication
Conduct regular placement-readiness sessions (CV writing, interview prep, mock interviews, etc.).
Act as the primary point of contact for students regarding career support and opportunities.
Coordinate placement drives, career fairs, and networking events.
🔹 Industry Exposure & Events
Organize and coordinate industry visits, seminars, guest lectures, and alumni talks.
Conduct employer and alumni feedback surveys to enhance student preparation and curriculum relevance.
🔹 Alumni Engagement
Maintain and update the alumni database.
Coordinate alumni meetups and integrate alumni into placement and mentoring initiatives.
🔹 Reporting & Administration
Maintain accurate placement records, dashboards, and reports for internal stakeholders.
Generate timely reports on placement status, corporate interactions, and alumni engagement.
Job requirements
Qualifications & Skills Required:
Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Human Resources, or related field (Master’s preferred).
4–6 years of experience in a similar role within a university or higher education setting in the UAE.
Strong corporate network and proven experience in driving placements and internships.
Excellent communication, presentation, and relationship-building skills.
Proactive, well-organized, and capable of working independently.
Strong knowledge of current job market trends and industry expectations.
Familiarity with student engagement platforms, CRM, and career portals is a plus.
