Assistant Manager - Placement & Alumni Relations

Job summary:

Our client, a leading university in the Norther Emirates - UAE, is seeking a dynamic and proactive Assistant Manager – Placements & Alumni Relations to take full ownership of student placement and internship programs. The successful candidate will serve as a key link between the university, students, and industry partners, playing a pivotal role in enhancing career outcomes for students and building long-term corporate relations.

Job responsibilities

  • Key Responsibilities:

    🔹 Placements & Internships

    • Manage the complete placement lifecycle for final-year students across all academic programs.

    • Source and coordinate internships for students at various levels of study.

    • Ensure placement targets are met or exceeded annually.

    🔹 Corporate Engagement

    • Identify and onboard new companies across diverse sectors for placements and internships.

    • Establish and maintain strong industry relationships through regular engagement, calls, meetings, and visits.

    • Liaise with employers to understand hiring needs and align student skills accordingly.

    🔹 Student Readiness & Communication

    • Conduct regular placement-readiness sessions (CV writing, interview prep, mock interviews, etc.).

    • Act as the primary point of contact for students regarding career support and opportunities.

    • Coordinate placement drives, career fairs, and networking events.

    🔹 Industry Exposure & Events

    • Organize and coordinate industry visits, seminars, guest lectures, and alumni talks.

    • Conduct employer and alumni feedback surveys to enhance student preparation and curriculum relevance.

    🔹 Alumni Engagement

    • Maintain and update the alumni database.

    • Coordinate alumni meetups and integrate alumni into placement and mentoring initiatives.

    🔹 Reporting & Administration

    • Maintain accurate placement records, dashboards, and reports for internal stakeholders.

    • Generate timely reports on placement status, corporate interactions, and alumni engagement.

Job requirements

  • Qualifications & Skills Required:

    • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Human Resources, or related field (Master’s preferred).

    • 4–6 years of experience in a similar role within a university or higher education setting in the UAE.

    • Strong corporate network and proven experience in driving placements and internships.

    • Excellent communication, presentation, and relationship-building skills.

    • Proactive, well-organized, and capable of working independently.

    • Strong knowledge of current job market trends and industry expectations.

    • Familiarity with student engagement platforms, CRM, and career portals is a plus.
