Job summary:

Our client, a prestigious university based in Dubai, is seeking a dynamic, highly qualified, and student-focused Assistant Professor of Management. The ideal candidate will possess a PhD in Business Management or a closely related field, along with a proven track record of teaching excellence within the UAE higher education landscape. This role requires an academic capable of delivering high-quality education across diverse management and marketing modules, with a specific emphasis on data-driven operations. The candidate must be skilled at mentoring student research and publishing high-impact scholarly work.

Job responsibilities

  • 1. Teaching and Learning

    • Deliver engaging, student-centered undergraduate and postgraduate lectures across a broad spectrum of management courses, including:

      • Project Management & Operations Management

      • Business Analytics

      • Business Strategy

      • Management Analytics and Data Visualisation

      • Entrepreneurship & Sustainable Business

      • International Business & Management in a Global Context

      • Human Resource Management (HRM)

      • Organizational Psychology and Leadership

      • Introduction to Marketing

    • Design, update, and evaluate curriculum materials, syllabi, assessments, and lesson plans in alignment with CAA standards.

    • Integrate hands-on process simulation software and advanced spreadsheet modeling into the Operations Management and Business Analytics curricula to bridge theoretical frameworks with real-world practical applications.

    2. Student Research & Dissertation Support

    • Serve as a primary advisor and mentor to undergraduate and postgraduate students during their

      Dissertation and capstone projects.

    • Guide students through the research process, including thesis formulation, quantitative/qualitative data analysis, and academic writing.

    • Support and supervise data-driven or simulation-based dissertations, ensuring students can effectively leverage analytics and modeling software in their research.

    3. Research and Scholarship

    • Maintain an active research agenda by publishing articles in peer-reviewed, high-impact journals indexed in Scopus or ABDC.

    • Actively seek internal and external research grants and participate in local and international academic conferences.

    4. Service and Institutional Compliance

    • Engage in university committees, accreditation activities, curriculum development workshops, and student recruitment events.

    • Ensure all teaching practices comply with institutional policies and Ministry of Education frameworks.

Job requirements

  • Education:

    • UAE Equivalency: Must possess a valid UAE Recognition Certificate / Degree Equivalency

      issued by the UAE Ministry of Education (MoE).

    • Experience: Minimum of 3 to 5 years of full-time teaching experience specifically within

      UAE universities or HEIs.

    • Residency: Must currently be located in the UAE with a valid residency visa or the ability to transition smoothly.

  • Software Competency (Mandatory) :

    • Hands-on practical experience utilizing, teaching, or researching with process simulation software such as FlexSim, AnyLogic, Simul8, SimPy, or equivalent platforms is an absolute must.

    • Must possess strong, advanced Microsoft Excel skills (e.g., data modeling, solver, optimization formulas, and pivot tables) for business applications.

  • Language Proficiency:

    Native or near-native fluency in written and spoken English is mandatory.

Skills and Competencies

  • Strong proficiency in Business Analytics software (e.g., SPSS, Python, Power BI, or Tableau) alongside the required simulation packages.

  • Deep understanding of global business dynamics, sustainable corporate practices, and localized UAE economic contexts.

  • Proven ability to motivate, engage, and manage culturally diverse classrooms in an international setting.

  • Excellent digital literacy, including experience with Learning Management Systems (LMS) such as Blackboard or Canvas
